Today, 6 Swedish universities are members of IAESTE. IAESTE contribute to broadening internationalization and give students amazing opportunities to add practical knowledge in relevant fields to their theoretical studies.
IAESTE’s national office is located at Chalmers University of Technology but works equally for all universities and students in Sweden. The Swedish Council for Higher Education finances the exchange programme.
IAESTE focus mainly on students in engineering, natural sciences and architecture but also offer many opportunities for instance for economy or marketing students.
The basic yearly membership fee is 6 000 SEK – if a local student committee is created the fee is 20 000 SEK. IAESTE is a non-profit organization – the funds go directly to the students’ activities. Students getting involved with IAESTE gets valuable experience from running a non-profit organization, keeping in contact and marketing towards employers and meeting students from all over the world coming to Sweden for internships.
